Hector the Rat

Hector was my sweet little boy...my little Hector-bo-bector-fee-fi-fo-fector. I will always remember and miss him. He was the best pet I've ever had and probably always will be.
What was great about him was that he was different...he was a rat. A lot of people think them gross, but no, Hector was the sweetest and cutest little rat that you would have ever seen. I loved walking around with him on my shoulder, in my hoodie, or down my shirt...
I'm going to miss the way he would lay in my hair...
Hector was a funny little guy. He would never eat his food until he got his yogie treats. He loved them so much! We would end up giving him around 20 a day. This is probably why he got so fat...but that's ok. He was happy and that's all that mattered.
He lived to almost be 4 years old which is amazing for a rat. He outlived all of his siblings.
In his time of passing I was there, holding his paw up until his final breathe..I held him for hours, and I didn't want to ever let him go.
Today my boyfriend and I buried him under my window...so he'd be close to mommy. He was my baby, and my best friend. I feel like I've lost a huge chunk of my heart and I don't think it will ever be replaced.
I love you Hector...always and forever. I hope you're eating a thousand yogies wherever you are!
