A dog has been rescued after being trapped
between narrow rocks for almost a month without food
or water. Holly the Collie dog got stuck in an 18in-wide
pass between rocks in Cornwall after being frightened by a storm while out
walking with her owners.
Owner Dennis Stephenson said a sudden clap of thunder had frightened her, so she ran and jumped the fence. Stephenson and wife Irene searched for the animal and handed out leaflets in the
village where they live. By chance, almost three and a half weeks later she was found by a man who was walking through the area.
She was found stuck in a 10ft-deep gap which was sealed at both ends.
The 12-year-old is now recovering after developing infections in both eyes and losing about
25lb in weight. A vet gave Holly a vitamin injection and antibiotics to treat the eye infections.
Locals have now started a campaign to build a fence
around the narrow opening to avoid a repeat.
