not all Thoroughbreds are high spirited. I have a 16 year old TB mare that i have had for 6 years. Did Novice/Training level eventing with her, as well as the hunter/jumper circuit and she is the calmest horse under saddle of any horse i have ever ridden!

Thoroughbreds are very spirited horses that should be for more experienced riders, however they have amazingly smooth gaits and are very fun to ride. They are great jumpers and look amazing in the show ring. They're definitely worth the effort. Once you ride a thoroughbred you'll probably never want to ride another breed again! They also have lots of personality which makes them a joy (and sometimes a fun challenge) to be around. Thoroughbreds are definitely my favorite breed.

I have had a few Tb and all of them could easily jump 4'6+ with a lot of room to go.

I don't ride the Thoroughbred... Yet. But my mom has worked with them since ever... My grandpa raises and breeds them. We don't use them for jumping or other competitions like that. We race them. I'll be riding this fast, spirited horse by next year... The Thoroughbred is a nice breed, by personality, and by conformation.
