Added on Jan 1st, 2008 By SJ Mast - Virginia I own a Racking horse... they are very similar to the TWH. He is three years old, and he's a beautiful dark bay. He's a little over 16 hh, and he has the most sweet personality. We have had to consistently be firm with him, so he doesn't get the idea that he is the "lead horse", but once he realizes that I am in charge, he's very submissive and sweet. I highly recommend the TW Hor RH breed.
Added on Jan 1st, 2008 By Robin Rick - Wyoming Your breed profile indicates its main uses as being Racing and Showing on one page, and Riding and Showing on another. You're missing one of it's biggest specialties, TRAIL RIDING! These are awesome Trail Horses! I work for an outfitter in Wyoming and between us, we have 26 Tennessee Walkers and 2 Foxtrotters. Some of them have been with us for more than 10 years. Within 2 years of getting our first TWH we sold out all the stock horses and have never gone back! These horses excel at Pleasure Riding, Trail Riding, Competitive Trail, and Endurance for some individuals. Try one, you may never go back either!
Added on Jan 1st, 2008 By Beth Stouffer - Ireland The Tennessee Walking Horse is the world's greatest show and pleasure horse. These horses are versatile. Gentle enough for a 4 year old child and an 88 year old grandparent! They offer their owners style, comfort and a heart of gold! Gelding, Mares and Stallions all have that "Southern Gentleman/woman" nature. You can do anything with this breed of horse; showing, English, western, driving,; you name it - this horse does it. I have had over 20 years experience with breed and he outshines many of his equine bretheran every time. Like it says on the box - Ride One Today and you'll Own One Tomorrow!
