Added on Jan 1st, 2008 The Westie is an active breed, and needs plenty of exercise, and are very intelligent, a Westie's coat needs to be brushed and combed every day and trimmed several times a year. My Robbie gets groomed every 14 weeks but I don't like the coat being to short. You should be careful where you take them for trimming because often they don't even look like a Westie afterwards! Robbie loves to play hide and seek with me and take my hand ever so gently into his mouth and talk away - that is his way of telling me he loves me very much. The westie is also excellent with children - all in all an ideal companion
