I fell in love with Wire (wired!) Fox Terriers after watching the original"Thin Man" movies. At that time I knew absolutely nothing aboutthese dogs, so my husband & I contacted various breeders for first hand information. All were very positive, but cautioned how headstrong and independent these dogs can be. This actually strengthened my resolve to have one-I was not interested in a "couch potato" pet. After many conversations, books, and puppy visits, we purchased Asta (yes Asta-Iknow!) when she was three months old. She is a very intelligent, active, sweet and loyal companion. I could not even imagine life these past eleven years without her-she is as lively and inquisitive and headstrong now (and has those lapses of "deafness", too!) as she was the first day we brought her home. This dog will always be in my heart-and a Wire will always be part of my life.

I have a toy fox terrier and he is a wonderful dog! I have a 6 year old and he is great with her. I also have 2 chow chows and he gets along great with one of them and the other he doesn't like for some reason. He growls at him sometimes but nothing too extreme. If anyone is thinking about getting a toy fox terrier i would absolutely recommend it. I have had nothing but great experiences with mine!

I have a Wire Haired Fox Terrier and he's a wonderful companion. After having many different breeds of dogs, I decided to get a Fox Terrier this time. He's about 2 years old and is a little ray of sunshine! (Most of the time) Terriers can be very stubborn and "deaf" if they want to be. The trick is to make sure that they know who's boss from a very young age - eventhough I think they will always try to be boss! If you are thinking of getting one, you will be making a great choice! maureen.harvey@sympatico.ca
