We adopted a Westie 9 years ago from a Humane Society, and we love our Scooter. He is so loving, he loves to cuddle on our laps. He loves car rides and walks. Raw carrots are some of his favorite treats. We keep he fairly short clipped, as we think his former owners may of be cruel, as he does not like to be brushed.

The Westie is an active breed, and needs plenty of exercise, and are very intelligent, a Westie's coat needs to be brushed and combed every day and trimmed several times a year. My Robbie gets groomed every 14 weeks but I don't like the coat being to short. You should be careful where you take them for trimming because often they don't even look like a Westie afterwards! Robbie loves to play hide and seek with me and take my hand ever so gently into his mouth and talk away - that is his way of telling me he loves me very much. The westie is also excellent with children - all in all an ideal companion

My Westie is 8 months old now and she is the absolute highlight of my life. She is so lovable, very trainable and has personality plus. She loves to play ball, go on walks and play with her friends at the dog park. I would recommend a Westie to anyone who is looking for a small, delightful dog.

I show and breed Westie's. They are part of our family. I do not have any problems . I feed low Maize content food Groom them daily without washing and Stronghold them monthly. My puppy buyers are given plenty of advice on their puppy and contact is kept for the first few months. I also put restrictions on Not for breeding or Export. With a good breeding program and a good environment, the Westie makes a wonderful pet.

I bought my first Westie 6 years ago. Have had many different breeds in my life, but must say that this breed is the best! I just got a new Westie puppy this summer. He will soon be 6 months old. They get along well, and are very people/animal friendly little boys! I have read that this breed is not good with kids. This is definitely NOT true! My boys love kids, and enjoy playing with everyone!
