I own two Rottweilers, Panic and Chaoz. These dogs are my life. I would recommend this breed to anyone who wants a dog that will stand by your side for life. My two dogs are sisters and they could not be more different. I have one who is like most people say very demanding and protective, but on the other hand would not hurt anything unless I was being harmed. Then my other Rott is such a baby. She aviods fights and usually sleeps. So as far as MEAN goes thats all talk. It depends on how you raise them. I love Rottweilers and I would not trade them for ANYTHING!!!

we have adopted two rottweilers with terrible back grounds, Our neighbors think we are crazy since we are in our 60's. I would do it a hundred times over they make us laugh and are such a joy, oh yes we have our issue's the male is 2 and weigh about 150 and wanted nothing to do with women . We think he was beat by a woman with a belt we hide all those, but after almost 2 years he loves mom and sit on my lap (well tries) and sleeps as close as he can get. They are a joy and people need to get educated on the breed. Love our Big Babies. Pittsburgh Sadie

The Rottweiler is a special dog. I love this breed. They love to work, please, and protect. Owners should be extremely loving but just as firm. Not everyone can give a Rottweiler the proper guidance and training he needs to be a good example of a breed with a bad reputation. Please don't own a Rottweiler unless you're willing to put in the effort needed to make him a good citizen.

It is so sad that the Rottweiler has been given such a bad reputation. I have owned 3 rotties and would not even consider another breed. They are stubborn creatures and need a strong willed, consistent owner. But they are the most loyal and loving dog I have seen. All 3 of my dogs have had a very calm disposition, are not aggressive (they are protective), live with my cats well and and are great with my children. They are very loving and love to get and give affection.
