I have a 3 yr. old Pembroke named Fagin, and he lives up to his name! He is definitely a "thief of hearts." It is a pleasure to walk with him...all the dogs who are behind their fences bark and bark at him and he merely casts them a quick glance and continues on with his Corgi "trot," never uttering a bark. He loves all children, lets them pet him as long as they wish, and continuously wags his little nub of a tail. He has learned all of his commands quicker than any other dog in his class and we are on our way to becoming a CGC (Canine Good Citizen) with the goal of visiting rest homes and hospices. I had never had a Corgi before; now I can't imagine having anything else. He is loving, smart, very funny and energetic without being overbearing. Who could ask for more?

I have a 2 year old Sable Corgi and she is the greatest. She has about 7 different vocal languages. She is very smart and doesn't know that she really is a dog. She is very alert and let's me know if something could be wrong without going crazy. She loves kids and I did not bring any of her herding skills out, so therefore she does not nip at them as they ran and play. I also love the way she will get a small amount of food in her mouth and take to her favorite rug, eat those pieces and then go back for more. She does is about 3 times and then will eat all the rest at her bowl. Her name is Demi Blue Britches and what a joy.

My friend had one for almost 20 years. It was well behaved, calm & got along with children of all ages as well as other household pets. It was easily house-broken. It loved to catch & kill field mice that slipped into the house! It just took a simple command "Kill the rat" & the deed was done.

This breed is the best breed!! My corgi "Charlee", alerts me all the time when a noise he doesn't like occurs. He has made friends with my horses. And he loves all kids! He does not however prefer male adults. Why I don't have a clue. If you are looking for a good protecting dog choose this one. Though small he doesn't think he is that small. His bark is as loud and as big and deep as a German Shepherd. Haha. Choose this breed!!

We have a nine month old Sable Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Cirrus. We wanted a bigger dog, but due to renting we couldn't get a big dog. Cirrus has so much personality, you would think she is a big dog. Playing is the best thing in the world next to eating. I am so glad we got a smaller breed and were able to discover how much fun Corgis can be! Heidi
