I think the miniature poodle is the perfect dog for anyone looking for an indoor companion. The smaller poodles tend to be hyper. My miniature poodle, Mimi, has a great temperament - always willing to play, and ready to go to bed when I do. She's a great guard dog; the only time she seems to be upset is when she see's someone, or another animal, approach my house. Her intelligence is amazing - she remembers words and signals and always obeys. The only thing that might inhibit someone from choosing a poodle is the grooming, but I take her for a bath once a month and only have her clipped/groomed every other month. That's not too much trouble for me.
