I have had a lot of different kinds of dogs, but never have I had one as loving and loyal as my Great Dane. She is the best dog that I have ever had. Despite her very large size she is extremely gentle and loving. She is very affectionate and seems content just to be around you! She loves children! She sleeps a lot, but when she is awake, what a characters he is! I HIGHLY recommend this breed for anyone who loves big dogs!

Mantle is also an accepted show color of Great Danes in the US since 1999. So the show colors are: Harlequin, Mantle (called Boston in Canada), Black,Brindle, Fawn and Blue.

My husband & I have been looking into adopting a canine into our family. I am partial to any dog, he is partial to the Great Dane / Bull Mastiff breed. We have a chance to adopt a 2 year old Great Dane. I have visited many websites to find out as much as I could about living with a Great Dane. Breeding is good! I am disappointed that I could not find a site on what type of personality a Great Dane has and what an owner should expect after the dog has been bred to its maximum.

Great Danes are true gentle giants, they make the most delightful pets, and they are wonderful with children (best if they grow up with children from a young age). I have had Great Danes all my life, and I will never have any other dog. They are my companions & protectors. A highly recommended breed.

I just bought my first Great Dane last year. Already, I can tell you that I would never want to live without one again! She is my whole world next to my man and my kids!! She follows me everywhere and is my first thought when I wake up and my last before I go to sleep. Gentle Giants are what they are called, and when she isn't doing donuts at warp speed in the middle of my living room, lol, that is exactly what she is. She loves her little bro, a Rat Terror(terrier), named Rocky, so much, but he don't want to play much with her cus she is a bit rough with him!! LOL! That's my Dazzle!!
