When I got married my husband said he only liked German Shepherds. I had a mini-daschund. He spent time with her, fell in love and now we have two girl mini-daschunds. The "girls" go everywhere with him. Now he tells people he only likes mini-daschunds and German Shepherds. They don't like other animals and are scared around kids they don't know, but we love them anyway.

I have two wonderful daschunds. there names are Mickey and Jigger. Mickey is a long black hair mini he has a bad habit of eating paper. They are the most wonderful dogs to own. (dove75@comcast.net)

I have a chestnut colored, smooth-haired daschund whose name isChester (or Chetty as I call him). He is very loving and loyal, he is very protective over me. He has the tendency to think that he is bigger than he really is! He always stands his ground when meeting a bigger dog! He's not very fond of children, especially those that try to invade his personal space; it causes him to get nervous and cranky. Other than that, he's a great dog and I love him!

My son has a mini male daschund and 2 Jack Russells and find the daschund an arrogant dog who will not back down when chastised. He is inclined to go for you when you smack him, I just need some character profile on this breed as he is a temperamental but lovable fellow. Need to know how to handle his temperament.

We have a 3 year old named Walter, AKA 'Walter the Wonder Dog'. He does not fall into the common stereotypes for this breed, he is always happy and has never met a stranger, he is not yappy either, and is most content when being loved and cuddled - he is the very best snuggle buddy - and we all love him dearly!
