My husband has a mini dachshund called Sam.He is very intelligent,he understands simple commands like" go to bed or go wee wee".When he is naughty he knows,he goes to his bed and sulks until you call him and stroke him and then he wags his tail.He knows he's been forgiven.

I find my black short-haired Daschund to be very family-oriented. Though I've tried, he will not socialize with any people or pets outside of the family. He is smart, courageous, alert, healthy, perky, happy and sometimes stubborn. He's definitely a hunting dog. (sharongc@yahoo.com)

I have two of these lovely and lively dogs. They have very distinct personalities. They are also very protective of their territory. They often try to chase away much larger dogs. carolynmdgt@aol.com

My dog is definitely a lap dog. She is smart and energetic. She is eager to please us but loves to chase lizards and bark at cats and deer outside our fence. She understands "out" "cookie" "lie down" "no". I love her.

my mini dachshund is 5 months old, she is the most stubborn dog i have ever had but she is very good with people & other dogs. She understands the words as 'sit', 'stay', 'come' and one important command that she will listern is when we are out to do her business and i say samantha potty, she will do it. I am very proud of my little dog.
