My family and I recently lost both of our boxers. They were both very old. We adopted a boston terrier from our son-in-law(he was going to take the dog many miles from home and dump him. I don't know where my daughter found him) He is much smaller than we are used to, but he has,in a very short time, become a member of the family! I have found him to be very playful, espically with our kitten. They have become the best of friends. He also seems to be pretty bright, and loves to go with me when I take my sons to school and pick them up.I have become very fond of the breed and will likely have another soon. Does this breed have a high risk of cancer or heart problems as boxers tend to? Butch(our boston) is about 2yrs. old and seems to be very much like my boxers in that he will stay very puppyish for quite awhile.

I have had Boston's all my life and would recommend this breed to all ages-wonderful with children-very playful and lovable.

I just wanted to write about how pleased I am with my Boston terrier. I have been a dog owner all of my life but never had the pleasure of owning such an intelligent, easily-trained animal. He is boisterous and friendly with the cats, who regard him as a mild annoyance and no more (which is actually a good thing given that two of my cats weigh 20 pounds apiece). He has learned sit, stay, and sit-up, mastering each command in a matter of minutes. House-training is also moving along quite well, his "accidents" becoming fewer and farther between. All in all, this is the best dog I have ever had and I hope everybody is as lucky as I am with this breed. He is also very good with children and elderly people.

I have a one year old Boston. I got when he was 4 months. He has grown quite a bit, he is wonderful with all people he come in contact with. He is very smart, he knows treat of course, toy (get your toy), and is working on sit. He's my little baby boy.

The lively intelligent part doesn't exactly live up to my boston Daisy. How about timid and quivery ?! She has only bonded with a couple of family members. Two family members took her to an ash pitch across the road from where Daisy lives. She really loved it !
