From Kerri, Georgia Border collies are exceptional dogs! While they're often ranked the smartest
and most energetic working breed, they're also extremely sweet and faithful
pets. I grew up with a border who lived to 17 and now have another one who's
almost 2. I've had several other breeds and Heinz 57s, but the borders stand
out. And they truly are amazingly smart dogs. Just make sure you have lots of
energy or children -- borders need a "job" and like nothing better
than fetching and running for hours at a time!
From Amber, Texas Border Collie's are great for farming, herding, and they are really active
and sweet dogs all at once. They love attention, love kids, and especially love
to run! Also very fast dogs. And very protective of owners & such.
