Dobermans are a very intelligent and energetic breed. It's best to keep their minds and bodies busy, with obedience training, exercise, and thought-provoking games and sports. They can be very sweet, but at the same time, very powerful, so you need to be careful when raising a doberman with a small child or smaller dogs in the same household, because when they start to get bigger in size and weight, they still think they are small puppies, and can accidentally knock a small child down or play too roughly with a smaller or older dog, not meaning any harm if they are not trained and socialized while at a very early age.
