First Registered: 1903
Height: 18 - 22 inches
Weight: 45 - 75 lbs.
Colors: Black, red, blue, fawn and cream.
Coat Type: Rough, abundant, dense and coarse with a pronounced ruff around head and neck. Smooth, has a hard dense outer coat with a soft undercoat with no ruff or feathering on his legs and tail.
Health Concerns: Entropion, hip dysplasia.
Temperament: Alert, independent, strong-willed

i have 2 chows a male(which is fixed) and a female which is not, they are brother and sister the female is a red and the male is all black. i also have a boxer pit mix female not fixed and an akita german shepard male who is fixed. they all get along great i have never had any problems with any of them around kids, toddelrs,babies smaller animals they have a great temperment, i also watch a lot of dog whisperer...lol
