I have two American Bulldogs who are sisters. And a lab mix also. They get along with EVERYBODY. I'm surprised at how many people mistake them for pit bulls. They did look like pits when they were littler but they are so much bigger. They have yet to find it necessary to "protect" the house or my boyfriend and I, but I have people cross the street when they see me coming walking all 3 at the same time. They love meeting new people (though strollers and bikes were scary at first). People I meet can't believe how friendly and well behaved they are. My boyfriend and I got them without knowing anything about the breed. (His idea not mine!!) Doing your research 1st helps with any breed but AB's need a little extra something because they are so smart. I've worked with the girls since the minute I brought them home at 6 weeks. They are fabulous dogs (all 3) but I wouldn't recommend them for just anyone. You must be the pack leader or they will walk all over you with no obedience training. And daily exercise is a must with mine. I've been trying to find more dogs for them to play with too. My 2 gorgeous girls and my buddy boy say hi!!
