This is our first Himmie. What a wonderful breed. Every time you just touch her (Mallory) she purrs. Even when your eyes meet hers, she'll sing. This is truly the most gentle breed ever. I have been a kitty person all my life and I will definitely get another himmie. Do not declaw this breed as they are very short legged and need their nails to climb. We have no problems with inappropriate or destructive scratching of furniture. She is the best!

This cat is like a dog the way it has to be in the same room with you at all times. He is so communicative that sometimes it's as if he's speaking English. He starts talking to me the minute I come home at night and looking right at me with those big, baby blues. He's beautiful , smart, sensuous to the touch and is he ever funny! I never knew cats could have so much personality and so many entertaining little habits. This is a highly interactive pet which I'd recommend especially if you, like me, are used to dogs. But the grooming can be a problem. This guy is very 'strong willed' and has to be under anesthetic to be groomed. I've tried about 6 different groomers with the same results. If you get a kitten, particularly male, start getting him groomed weekly until he is used to it.

I have a six year old himmie and he is just about the sweetest thing on the planet. We got him when he was about 2 months old and the funny part was that he was supposed to be my sister's cat but instead he chose me and he is truly a mama's boy. Whenever i wake up in the morning he's waiting right outside my door and when I come home from work or school he's standing by the front door. Grooming is a must, if anyone plans on wearing dark clothing i would not suggest owning this breed, ALL my dark clothes are covered in my baby's hair and all he can do is just lay there, purr extremely loud and stare at me with his big baby blues. I absolutely love him and in the future would definitely get more himmies.

Several months I rescued a Himalayan kitty, he was very sick and was at the vet's for a couple of days. Since I've had him, I've found he is very loving and loyal and has added so much to my life. He gets along with my other kitty very well. My other kitty doesn't get along with many people or animals, so I was surprised when Sidney {my Himalayan} fit right in, he was patient and submissive and won Maggie over. I've never had a pure bred kitty and would gladly love to receive any info telling me more about this breed. Maggie and I are so happy with our new addition to the family. (Email KMaggie36@aol.com)

I have had cats my entire life, but have never found a cat more wonderful than a Himalayan. Not only are they beautiful, but there personalities are quite unique. They are sweet and loving with a gentleness, but also love to play and "talk". I would recommend a himmie to anyone, as long as you are willing to spend some time grooming. Grooming daily is a must.
