Choosing a Flea Treatment Product

There exist many over-the-counter flea treatments on the market including Program, Interceptor, Frontline, Advantage and Revolution. Choosing which one can be confusing.

See the comparison chart below to help you choose a treatment. Remember not to combine any treatments without prior instruction from your vet, as this may be very dangerous. There are also various flea treatment shampoos.

If the fleas in your area seem resistant to a product you are currently using, we recommend you change to another product. This is the reason we have a variety of flea control products available. Remember to only use products on cats which are specifically labeled for use on cats.

Farnam Bio Spot	Spot-On. Once Monthly	Advanced, effective spot-on formula kills over 92% of fleas on cats and dogs within 24 hours of application, and for up to 4 weeks. Fleas DO NOT have to bite the dog to be killed, so BioSpot is great for pets with flea allergy dermititis.
Program/ Interceptor	Tablet or Liquid. Once Monthly	Interrupts life cycle. This product will not stop you from seeing adults, however it will halt new generations. Interceptor is a combination with heartworm preventative.
