Can Geckos And Bearded Dragons Cohabit?

Tools: Email Bookmark Comment

I have two geckos. If I get a bearded dragon will it attack or fight with my geckos? (William Whipple - Michigan)

I would not recommend housing different species in the same enclosure. Depending on the geckos' sex and size the bearded dragon may well physically abuse the geckos. Another problem is that certain parasites (such as Coccidia) are quite common in bearded dragons and normally cause no ill effects. However when transferred to some other species, including the leopard gecko, they can cause major health problems and in rare circumstances even be fatal.
