Whats A Good Substrate For Snakes?

I own a 6 ft boa constrictor I ran out of regular cage paper (substrate) I am using news paper and noticed the ink rubs on the water bowl will this ink be harmful to the snake. (Robert - Clearwater, Florida)

Robert, I think that a lot of reptile owners use newspaper for their pets' substrate. We think as long as the paper does not get wet, and that your snake does not consume anything soft or wet directly off the newspaper then it should cause little harm. However, this is just our opinion, and you may be wise to seek a second opinion.
