QuestionIs declawing a cat still a vet accepted practice? (Tina - Wisconsin)

Answer

Declawing cats is still a very widespread procedure in the United States, especially since many people choose to keep entirely indoor cats. There are ethical debates about this procedure, since mostly the reason is solely practical. In the United Kingdom, for example, this procedure is almost unheard of. Every vet will have a different opinion of what age the cat should be when carrying out the procedure. Contact your vet to discuss in more depth.
