QuestionMy cat has recently started to grind its teeth and i'm worried that something may be wrong. I have never noticed her doing this before but can not identify any other symptoms of illness. (Adam Coston - United Kingdom)

Answer

Teeth grinding is often a sign of an improper bite in kittens. However, if your cat is mature and she has only just started doing this, it is certainly worth visiting the vet for a thorough oral examination. In the meantime, it may just work changing her diet from wet to dry or vice versa. Sometimes a wet diet doesn't provide enough 'bite' for a cat's gums.
