My Cat Destroys My House Plants

Weekly Expert Pet Advice
with Dr. James Glover, Resident Expert

Why do my cats tear up the leaves off my house plants? They don't eat them or go to the toilet in them. (Paula, Ohio)

I think your cats enjoy this! They are just playing. As far as I can see you have few options. You could try moving your plants to a higher position or a room where your cats don't have access. Alternatively, try and find toys that will keep your cats amused for long periods of time. This may not stop them from doing it but will probably reduce the damage!
