I feed him Canidae dog food(chicken and lamb)and a variety of brands of dried chicken tenders for treats. What is a good brand of dog food and treats that are good for a more solid poop? http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/554-dog-has-frequent-diarrhea.htm 28 Oct 2015 00:00:00 EST http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/554-dog-has-frequent-diarrhea.htm Foxhound puppy sometimes attacks I have a five month old female foxhound puppy. She is usually very sweet with our other dogs but whenever they come near me she lunges at them and sometimes even attacks them. Can you give me some advice to stop this behavior? http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/552-foxhound-puppy-sometimes-attacks.htm 07 Oct 2015 00:00:00 EST http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/552-foxhound-puppy-sometimes-attacks.htm Dog Fear Displacement My kitchen doesn't have a fan, and sometimes, when i am cooking, the smoke alarm goes off in the living room. Jacob totally freaks out, which is understandable, i guess. But now every time i turn on the stove, he is there, terrified and quivering even tho the alarm hasn't gone off for weeks. I reassure him, hold him etc., but it's getting worse. His food is in the kitchen, but he will not enter until i have stopped cookin and turned off the stove. what else can i do? at this point even turning off the alarm won't make a difference as he is so programmed. http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/553-dog-fear-displacement.htm 07 Oct 2015 00:00:00 EST http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/553-dog-fear-displacement.htm My dog has formed a stricture at the end of her esophagus 1. My dog has formed a stricture at the end of her esophagus. I have had 6 very expensive procedures to open it up and cannot afford more. I have to feed her only liquefied food and am concerned. She can only seem to keep down Science Diet A/D canned formula mixed with water. She has done very well and gained some weight. She is perfectly normal and full of energy. My concern is this food okay for her to have all the time (the rest of her life)? I know it is for sick & recovering dogs (high in calories & fat.) Will it hurt her or is there something similar out there that is just daily nutrition. It has to be absolute mush; the slightest chunk causes immediate regurgitation. http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/551-my-dog-has-formed-stricture-at-end-of-her-esophagus.htm 04 Aug 2015 00:00:00 EST http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/551-my-dog-has-formed-stricture-at-end-of-her-esophagus.htm Maltese chewing everthing 2. My six year old Shih Tzu/Maltese has recently started chewing blankets and pillows. This started about a week and a half ago. Prior to this, this has never beeb a problem. My sister passed away couple days before this happened. We didn't live together and my dog saw her a couple times a month at most for the last six years. So, I doubt it's because she's suddenly gone. Could the chewing be caused by anxiety she's has by sensing my family's grief? If this is possible, what can I do to ease her anxiety? I don't want her to be anxious but I also can't have her chewing up everything. Any information or suggestions would be amazing and thank you in advance. http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/550-maltese-chewing-everthing.htm 08 Jul 2015 00:00:00 EST http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/550-maltese-chewing-everthing.htm Puppy won't stop biting 1. Help! our 4month old puppy is a relentless bitter when playing or excited. nothing will stop her. http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/549-puppy-won-t-stop-biting.htm 04 Jun 2015 00:00:00 EST http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/549-puppy-won-t-stop-biting.htm Aging Dog Help My senior chihuahua is starting to show signs of his old age. If he doesn't stretch when he gets up, his hind legs spasm and kick out. Once he stretches, it stops. I want to help him stay healthy and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I have discussed options with my vet, but we don't agree. He looks more towards medication, and I prefer something more natural and possibly supplements. I read that the supplements don't really do anything though. Can anyone recommend something that may help? Also, he has no teeth so it would have to be a liquid or small pill. http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/547-aging-dog-help.htm 14 May 2015 00:00:00 EST http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/547-aging-dog-help.htm Boil around older dogs eye My dog is at least 13 years old. She has a small black place like a boil around her eye and the vet said she did not think it was anything to be concerned about. Looks like her ear has been running some and she has a black spot over her ear now twice as big as her eye. It is as big as your thumb, It is soft to the touch. Should I be concerned and take her to the vet? Thanks http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/548-boil-around-older-dogs-eye.htm 14 May 2015 00:00:00 EST http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/548-boil-around-older-dogs-eye.htm
