Excellent wifi modem. Fastest out there at this time. If you purchase from a cable store, you can pay up to $470. It is because it is the best. Cable companies also will let you rent it for up to $10 a month with no credit to buy it. If you return it you won't get a refund. Excellent buy and works excellent with pc's and Apples with an airport wifi also. I have mine set up that way with an iMac you do not have to do that just a personal preference. Highly recommend and super easy to set up takes about 5 minutes. You do have call your cable company once plugged for them to activate. That's all you have to do.

This particular model was DOA so can't recommend. when I got it the device was stuck in a reset loop and could not be used so I had to return it. Don't think it is a fault of the brand just a bad box.

I bought 2 motorola sufboards.they have 6 channels for the internet.the internet has 8 channels.if you get on 1 of the 2 channels not provided by motorla you drop in speed and go up in ping.ping 380,dl ,8,fought that over a year.finally found this out.cisco has 8 channels.cisco is the one my provider uses,no more proble,/problem fixed.do not buy the surfboard.motorola has no tech support and no update to fix the proble,.they dont care.buy cisco.now I have 2 surfboards worth 300.and cant use them,.junk.and I wont sell them to anyone.cisco is great.abd at 50,00 ebay.surfboard 150,00. @bestbuy
