The videos I watched gave the impression that the motor was pretty quiet. It's much louder in real life, wouldn't want to place this anywhere near my sleeping area. Preferably with a closed door in between. The container that stores the feces is far from air tight so it starts to smell pretty quickly. Wouldn't want to place this anywhere near where people walk by. Worst of all was that the plastic box is poorly designed, I had to use a knife to carve down three cogs on the track that the motor traverse in order for it to function properly. By default it started lifting the scoop too early -- it left a gap between the scoop and the end of the box. Some cat poop were just pushed to the front, impossible to actually being scooped up due to the gap. Further, the early lift caused the little "thing" that sticks out of the top of the scoop to collide with the lid of the open container. This put a lot of stress on the motor, you hear as the engine tries to keep going on the track but eventually figures it can't and returns to the default position. No wonder some people have trouble with the motor breaking after a short while! Luckily cutting off three cogs on the track did the trick; there's no gap and no more pressure on the motor. It stops and returns naturally now. The default position is *behind* the mark on the box by the way, further giving me the impression that the box is poorly designed. Setting "good value" to yes on this review due to the ok price and the product does its intended work, even though there's an issue with smell. They should have tried to design this thing so that half the bag attaches to the lid of the container, that way it would seal the bag when the machine is idle. The problem with the cogs made my jaw drop but at least it was plastic so you can fix it with a knife. Maybe not something everybody would figure out though? Really shouldn't be needed. I can't recommend the product with these flaws, although I don't have any alternative to advice on instead. This is the first auto-litter box I've ever tried. I suppose if I could I would answer "do you recommend it?" with both a yes and a no at the same time. Shipped to Sweden, arrived four days later than the given expected date. But that doesn't really matter, I don't demand accurate delivery dates when it's international shipping. Four days is completely reasonable. Edit: Can also mention that the one I received had a green color scheme for the motor and the lid instead of gray like in the photo on this page.Read full review
