I already had one of these for our 2 cats. But every time we would go into our storage shed a cat would get in there. We were afraid one might get left in accidently and die from the heat. This door is great because it has 4 different modes. You can just slide the switch to make it open in, out, in and out or locked. So we put one in the shed and made it so it only opens out. So a cat trapped inside can get out but they can't get back in. It's sturdy construction and easy to put in a standard size door or shed wall. I would buy this again. A standard size cat or really small dog could use it. Like a chihuahua. And I'd say that a cat that's about 16-18 pounds could go through it. It was delivered promptly in all new packaging with the tags and stickers on it. So it's brand new. It has the front and back panels and the hardware to install the door.Read full review

The cat door seems to be only of fair quality, but you get what you pay for. The one I ordered arrived with no instructions, and mounting screws that were too short to attach to anything. When I finally got it installed, it seemed to work. You would be better off to spend a little more and buy one from a reputable dealer.

I was adopted by a stray cat. I'm not particularly what you would call a cat lover but this one found a soft spot in me I guess. I didn't want her in the house and she was not a house cat anyway so I installed this on my garage door. She was bouncing in and out of it within 15 minutes of me showing her how to use it. After about 6months, the felt weather strip on the door began to restrict the door from opening freely so I pulled it off the bottom part and it is working fine again. This might be an issue if you had it opening into your home but it was not an issue for my garage cat.

I have one fat cat and the other is rather large, so I was afraid they would be unable to get through this door, but it seems adequate and should keep out larger animals. The only reason I took off a star was that there seems to be no liner to put between the font and back pieces of frame, so the cats have to walk on the foam inside the steel door as they go through. I expect this to be more of a problem when I mount this in a hollow interior door.

It was a bit of a learning curve trying to figure out which setting meant my kitty could come in and not go out, or go out and be able to come back in again, but the use of red and green sliding catches makes this possible. The door installed easily and is exactly the same size as my previous cat flap which did not have these in-out controls.
