Bolted the carburetor onto the engine, primed the engine with gas by pushing the bulb a couple of times, and the engine started on the second pull. It runs smoothly and starts easily with no further adjustments. It couldn't have been easier, and was a quick, inexpensive alternative to rebuilding the original. I'm very happy!

The problem with this carb is that it leaks from around the bowl seal. The body of the carb is smaller than the original Tecumseh, but the bowl is the same. The gasket is also a cheap design (squared) compared to the Tecumseh one (beveled). I am surprised that they keep selling this. I used the float, needle valve and jet to rebuild my original one. That's the only good part.

Cheap, universal carb, didnt work great on gokart. Tecumseh 5 hp. Hard to start, too cold blooded. Required work to be efficient.

This was the exact replacement for a Craftsmen wood chipper with a 5.5 hp engine that with a little checking determined it was made by Tecumseh. Sears wanted almost $100.00 for the same thing. Buying this new was cheaper than a rebuild kit. I paid less than $20.00 and it arrived in 2 days. It bolted on as easy as the old one came off.
