I am very happy about the size of this tank. I feared it'd be a little smaller than it is. It is a great size to put a pair of tanks on a book shelf or bedside table. Nice and clear. Top doesn't latch on but sits in nice and snug. I had feared my cats would be able to pry it off but that's not going to happen. Feeding hole is big enough, not too big. Again, small enough to keep my cats from going fishing effectively. This tank does not come with a heater, and I feel one is pretty necessary unless you live in a home that is constantly between 74-78 degrees F. Tetra makes a terrific heater that fits great in the tank though, the Tetra HT 50watt. The light that comes with this tank is nice and bright, and is overall very good with a few caveats... 1.) The micro USB port that is on it to use with AC power is very loose. Micro USB cables can easily lose connection just by being tugged on the wrong way. 2.) The battery compartments are very tight. Most normal batteries will work fine, but some rechargeable batteries that are just a hair thicker will simply not work. I had to hunt around to find rechargeables that would fit, and I found some Duracells that fit fine. Rechargeables are necessary because this light will burn through batteries very quickly, and end up costing a small fortune. So, either run it off micro USB, and just be wary of the loose cabling situation, or get some rechargeable batteries that fit. It'll save you a bunch of money in the end. Very easy to set up. Nice clean look, uses 3 AA batteries. The lights can be placed under or over the tank. Not too bright or too dim. Fish enjoy these lights because it's not overpowering. The lid has a feeding hole. I highly recommend this product.
