I was looking for an affordable plasma cutter to work on my utility trailer and other items made of metal. Since these are occasional jobs for personal use, I could not spend an inordinate amount of money on the unit or the consumables. Since receiving my LTP5000D I have started the required trailer repairs and I can say the unit was easy to assemble, place in operation and make the cuts required. Cutting in a straight line takes practice, but I am more into results than aesthetics. The unit came wired with a twist lock power plug, so I had to make an adaptor to fit my welding machine wall plug, but everything else need came with the unit, so the set-up was easy. The reviews I read online were worrisome, but for me the initial experience has been very positive. I've not got enough experience on the unit yet to say how reliable it will be long term, but at least it wasn't DOA.Read full review

Was skeptical since it was low priced for a plasma cutter but happy with the performance after using it. Included the majority of accessories to make it usesable. Just needed a few small connections to hook up the air. The nozzles, electrodes and cups are easily obtained for future use. Make sure if you use the 220 volt powercord that is included with the unit that you have ready when you receive the unit because it is the smaller 30 amp, smaller than my welder uses.

Works great for small projects, I've cut up to 1/4" material no problem, the cutting is relatively slow but does a great job! I have only used it within its specified perimeters!

works great - keep consumables tight in gun - bought a 90 piece set of consumables.. might last a life time. get a 220 volt adaptor - makes a world of difference

Its a nice cutter but don't expect it to go through the same thickness of steel as a name brand 50amp cutter. Its pretty good on 16 gauge and lighter sheet metal. Not the cleanest cut but way better than a torch. Great hobbyist machine.
