The nature of this antenna its size is 8 inches and is rigid. This antenna has internal design problems and it is the coil that is designed for the frequency 25,500 mhz and measures 9.64% ft with 1.4 SWR. In CB the diameter of 1/4 wave should be 9.08% ft long (27.0650 mhz) and this must be subtracted to 5% of the length (by established rules) and the result is 8.62% ft (12 ") = 8.5 ft (1/4 wave), calculating that by cutting the coil of this antenna 0.56% of inches (12 ") or 4.6 inches, you can take this antenna that has a ROE (SWR) of 1.4 in the frequency 27.065 mhz. Less than 1.4 is not possible since this antenna does not have a whip in its design, it is composed entirely of a single coil. For some reason end up cutting the coil cable 20 "to get 1.4 SRW at the frequency 27.065 mhz when you put the cap the SWR was up 4.5 and end up throwing that waste of time into the trash.Read full review

I got one of these a while back. It came with a 3" magnet mount and 9' cable. It works very well & It's also the sturdiest built short antenna I've ever seen. It isn't a rubber ducky antenna. it's an 8" adjustable wire-wound fiberglass rod antenna and has a quality feel to it too. It's adjusted SWRs are so-so but for a short range antenna quite acceptable. Yep, I like mine!
