Disclaimer: I am an unabashed MEW evangelist. If you want to stay active longer, or restore your ability to be active, Miranda's approach is the answer for many, and likely most, people. You can watch her TV show Classical Stretch on most PBS outlets, but I like this 1 hour workout the best. I am 62, male, and feel terrific when I do this workout 2-3 times per week. My sister (74) us a convert and says Miranda's technique is what she has been hoping to find for many years. Miranda borrows from tai chi, yoga, Pilates, and ballet to work all 600+ muscles in the body. There are no weights, no equipment (except a chair), and no crazy head-banging music, just intelligent movement. If you walk/hike, jog, push-mow the yard, etc. like I do, this will enable you to do all those things better. Although Miranda is engaging, her exercise routines seem to feature older kinds of exercises which emphasize speed and repetition rather than smooth, economical moves. Crunches, old-fashioned sit-ups and bending exercises seem to call for re-thinking, at the least. I also found her introductory information too long, and the continual chatter (I am very flexible...etc.) unnecessary. But perhaps I have become too used to yoga and pilates core work, which, along with walking, have been very helpful in my recovery from a fall and consequent back injuries.

When you are done, your muscles will feel stretched with no pain. The workout is not for beginners but if you have experience w/ yoga/pilates/stretching you will get used to the moves. Some are challenging; you can stop as you need to of course. Miranda educates throughout the video; I learned a great deal. It is not a high energy workout but you will feel energized at the end of it. Also love the overall peacefulness of sound/sight this video offers.
