This is not a 'pro' version. Platinum has fewer features. This is an old version. I can say it ran happily on my XP machine, and it now runs happily on my Win7 64Pro machine -- without using an XP simulator or whatever. You will find various Vegas afficionados saying what version is (was) best. And less buggy than current versions. :X Most people pick 9, but I have always used 10, and it has been pretty solid. Oh yeah, Save Often! It does not crash what I would consider to be "a lot," but it happens. With the autosave turned on, it can recover unsaved work. I can't attest to its performance on Vista, Win10, or Win 8/8.1. My friend installed it native in 8.1 and it runs. There's a guy with a 'trick' to make it run on Win10. Miles better and more sophisticated than Windows Movie Maker, even back when WMM actually made movies and had options, instead of the dumbed-down thing it is today. Comes with Effects, Transitions, Text. You can animate all those with keyframing. Some compositing modes, not robust in that area. It does have an Image Stabilization routine, and it does do Green Screen! (Or blue or red or whatever you want to set it to.)Read full review
