Bear Grizzly 50# Recurve - review
This is my first hunting grade recurve bow. It is everything I hoped for. I put a string on it within 5 minutes of reading directions on how to use a bow stringer (which I bought separately). It is simplistically beautiful. You can almost feel the potential energy stored in it's frame. The color of the wood is pleasing and not flashy. I lay it before me every night before I go to bed and meditate, that is how much I like the way it looks. The front and back of the bow are black laminated fiberglass ... in bright sunlight, this might cause a reflection a certain angles, so I recommend getting some camouflage wraps for your bow. Shooting the bow feels good. No weird vibrations or twangs. I was surprised at the accuracy while shooting off the shelf with a bear rug and small rubber pad on the side of the riser. My initial groupings were about 1 foot at 30 yards. Not bad for a beginner and not using any special aiming apparatus. I am shooting Gold Tip 5575 32" arrows with .4 spine. I think the arrows are a little strong spined for this setup, so will get some weaker spine arrows. If you are looking for a good entry level hunting bow and you have good strength in your shoulders and back, then I recommend you get the Bear Grizzly 50# recurve. I shoot about 36 arrows every 2 days and am soar after each session. It's getting easier to draw, but still feel it the next day. I am a 200 lb weightlifter with no beer belly, and by no means a weakling. If you are an advanced archer, then you might not like this bow because you will yearn for more bells and whistles, stronger pull, sighting system, etc ... But, I am very happy with the Grizzly and I am confident I could even kill a deer or bear with my 3 Phat broad heads that I bought.Read full review

Another fine-looking and fine-performing Bear recurve bow from a bygone era
This is a 1965 Bear Grizzly, and 1965 was one of, if not the best years for most Bear hunting bows. It was finely crafted of Zebrawood for the riser, and is one of the smoothest drawing and best shooting bows I own. I have several other 1965 Bear bows, including Kodiaks and Kodiak Magnums and this Grizzly, while not quite as fancy looking, shoots just as well or better. It is the ideal length for a hunting bow also. Bear only made the Grizzly with Zebrawood for this one year, and while other woods and other years probably shoot just fine, the zebrawood makes this one special.

best recurve out there
Very high quality bow. Smooth draw and release. High powered for a traditional bow. Excellent detailing. Purchased for traditional archery competitions and is perfect for them. Anybody familiar with bear archery knows that their bows are majestic works of art and this bow is no different. Will possibly be using for archery demos at ren fairs since the bow has an old fashioned look despite the extremely high quality of manufacturing.

Very fun bow to shoot!
Although I purchased new compound recently along with my Grizzly I find myself shoot the Grizzly more often. The compounds are fun but very technical with a million adjustments and after market gizmos to fiddle with. The Grizzly is a bow and just that. No sights, no drop away rests, nothing really to tune except for the nock placement. Takes more practice to get proficient, but the practicing is the enjoyable part of it all. If you don't enjoy practicing/shooting why buy a bow at all? Only issue, on mine, I had to get the serving redone, way to thin for the arrows I purchased. I'm just a beginner at instinctive shooting so some days I can stack them all into an area the size of a silver dollar at 20 yds but other days I need something more the size of a pie pan. LOL! The bow shoots great! Someday I hope to do it justice. =)Read full review

gorgeous in every way
excellent performance, smooth shooter, solid construction, beautiful colors, the only thing they miss is the bowstring, should be better to match this gorgeous bow. I would recomend it anyway.
