This 100-lb capacity pet food container is very well constructed and is easy on the eyes but I can't imagine it being able to hold 100-lbs of plain ol' dry dog food. I buy 50-lb bags of a name brand dry dog food and one bag filled this container close to 3/4 full. I was questioning this when entertaining the purchase and opted to purchase the 100-lb container as opposed to the 50-lb one for that very reason and I am glad I did. Now that being said, I am thoroughly pleased with the one I purchased but probably would have a very different perspective had i purchased the 50-lb container.

We have two 40+ pound dogs, two cats, and about five bird feeders. We purchased three bins to stack in the basement for storing the food. While I feel the bins could have had more secure engagement while stacking, once they are weighed down with food, they aren't prone to falling over. You could easily fit two 50lb dog food bags in one container. I cut the label off of the dog/cat/bird food and taped them to the front, so I know which is which and know which bags to buy at the store when I run low. Be sure to put the heaviest BAG of food on the bottom. My cat food is 12lb, dog is 50lb. Why lift the 50 pounds three feet up when I can pour it into the lowest one. Fine product, keeps the food secure and the mice, pets, and dust out.

I love these... Bought 3 to stack, but really could only stack 2 without them tipping and crushing the bottom. So we have 2 stacked and the other next to it... Not ideal, but still great!
