Lincoln and Helen Zunie are among the legendary silversmiths from Zuni. Lincoln is one of the famous Zunie brothers and his work, with Helen is greatly renowned. They are in Bell\'s book and of course all the later books as well and are well represented in the best galleries and the museums. This belt buckle is a great example of their work, depicting an Appaloosa horse head in beautiful mosaic channel inlay work. The buckle is properly signed. You can see an old price on the back of $900.

This exceptional gorgeous buckle is about 3-1/4\" x 2-1/4\" and there is a wonderful nice solid feel to it, substantially heavy at 107.5 grams. It is so nice. You can use a belt up to about 1-1/2\" wide in it. There is a swivel keeper on the back which is more comfortable than the all wire keepers. It is signed by the artists. The inlay is superb into silver channels, really fabulous work. The spotted cowrie shell for the horse\'s body and head is perfect for the Appaloosa. There is a very highly iridescent abalone used for the forelock and mane. The horses\' trappings are turquoise and spondylus shell and sterling silver is braided for the reins. The bridle is turquoise and silver. The belt buckle is framed with braided silver on both vertical sides. It\'s hand made and beautifully done. The buckle is extraordinary and it is in excellent vintage, collectible and wearable condition. This is really so striking!

This is a museum quality piece suitable for the best collections. It\'s amazing. Just wonderful! Just holding it in hand is a thrilling experience. It\'s gorgeous.
