Yamaha NS1000M Speakers:
$1200.00

I purchased these NS1000's here on in 2014. When I received them the cabinets had chipped veneer, dings, and scratches. All of the drivers had a very thick layer of dust. The metal grills were dented/pushed in during transit. The midrange grills put a few light surface scratches on the triangular metal diaphragm protectors. I'm an extremely picky person. So I took all of the drivers out of the cabinets. Removed all metal grills from the drivers. Pressed the dents out of the metal grills and they are at the very least 98% gone. Gently removed the dust with compressed air, and aerosol glass cleaner. Painted the mid range diaphragms with a gold spray paint, inspired by an image of a similar vintage Yamaha speaker, Yamaha NS10000, that has gold around beryllium tweeters and midranges as shown in pictures for reference purposes only. I wanted to paint the tweeter diaphragm protectors gold, but I couldn't find a safe way to remove them. I believe they are glued on, whereas the midrange protectors are fastened with screws. I chemically stripped the original finish of the cabinets. Filled the chipped veneer, dings, scratches, and grill holes with wood filler. Sanded them, and painted them with semi gloss white interior paint using a roller. The overall results are not 100% flawless machine made or professional cosmetically, but they are absolutely nothing to be ashamed of and they look a million times better than how I received them when I purchased them. My wife never liked the looks of NS1000's. Even if they were brand new, flawless, and fresh from the factory she would still be disappointed in their looks. After the makeover all of her complaints went out the window. When I told her that I'm selling them, she acted as if she wanted me to keep them. I primarily listed them because I like to explore  the audio world, and I don't have the budget to be a collector. I recently bought a pair of Sonus Faber's for example, and sold my klipsch Forte II's in the process. I absolutely can not afford to keep both sets.

Moving on to functionality and performance.

All drivers and all high & mid level volume controls work perfectly fine. If you've never heard NS1000's, they truly live up to their extremely good reputation. Amazingly detailed all across the frequency spectrum. I consider myself to be an audiophile listener. When I played some of my favorite test tracks I heard things I never knew were there. Such as the sound of a drum stick striking a drum head. These speakers really shine with horn instruments, and bring pianos to life. I'm not an expert at explaining the performance, but my ears definitely recognize a quality speaker.

I've owned and auditioned dozens of high performance loudspeakers. Ranging from vintage infinity, various Klipsch heritage models, Martin Logan, Magnepan, Definitive Technology, Paradigm, B&W, and more. The Yamaha NS1000's are and will remain in my top 3 favorites. I have no complaints with their sound quality whatsoever. My father lives about 14 hours of driving distance away from me. When I bought these NS1000's in 2014 I called him, and told they are an absolute must have for his collection. He bought a pair, and was so happy with them that he lost control and bought the next 2 pairs that were available on at the time. So he owns 3 sets. His collection of audio equipment is profound. If my budget allowed it, I would never sell these NS1000's. Since my father has 3 sets, it's a little easier for me to part with mine so I can afford to keep exploring speakers. Again, these speakers are not in museum 100% mint condition, but their performance is amazing, and their cosmetic appearances are gorgeous as is if you ask me. The bottoms and back panels, of the cabinets are not pretty by any means.

Shipping is flat rate freight to contiguous U.S. only. They will be palletized in the process. I know how to ship these without damaging the metal grills, and I know how to keep the magnets safe. I have successfully shipped 2 other pairs of NS1000's. I recently sold a set and shipped them to California, and my father sent a pair of his to me for me to refinish for him, and I shipped them back to him damage free. I use a company called Land Air Express. Their standard handling time from point A to B is 2 business days. My father and I have used this company more than 20 times combined and never had any problems. With other carriers we experienced damages more than 80% of the time no matter how well the items are packed even when packed with original factory material double boxed. I tend to always get items shipped out in one business if not the same day payment is received. I communicate rapidly. I always try to give buyers the best experience possible. My response is not perfect because an item was damaged in shipping and the buyer was refunded 100%. removed the buyer's negative comment, but they didn't correct the response to a positive. That experience led to an hiatus for me until I realized it's not fair to let one bad experience spoil my usage. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
