Yaesu FRG-7 Electrolytic Capacitor Replacement Set - 15 Capacitors:
$10.49

I offer these kits to simplify the process of obtaining the necessary components to do a DIY capacitor replacement - The capacitors are various chinese manufacturers. I have been using and selling these for many years and subject them to many tests with good results. I have tested them in use and on my Sencore LC-53 LC Meter as well as various other LC Meters and find them to be low leakage and right on specification for capacity and voltage, used and soldabout 20,000 of these capacitors and have several hundred kits sold some have been in service for over 5 years, I have never had a failure or a report of failure of any of these capacitors

I think you will find them just as good.

TheYaesu FRG-7Radio is an excellent candidate for a Do It Yourself capacitor upgrade. It is uncluttered, easy to work on, well labeled, and with the service manual, well documented. This radio was built from 1970's to Early 80's so every example is over 30 years old.

If you are looking at this sale, you likely realize that most sources consider 30 years to be the outside life expectancy for Electrolytic capacitors. The Electrolytic capacitors in older radio equipment deteriorate with age. This includes changing values and increased electrical leakage along with outright failure such as opening up or shorts, many times these failures are cummulativeand result in the gradual loss of performance. This upgrade will improve the function and reliability of these fine radios and extend their useful Life. Faulty capacitors are the cause of a significant amount of problems with electronic equipment and I have repaired hundreds of units in which the only fault was one or 2 defective Electrolytic capacitors but replacing all out of spec capacitors is recommended as Electrolytics have an engineered shelf life. This often restores the equipment to like new performance and failure to replace them can result in failure/stress to other components such as transistors and diodes, many of which are hard to locate replacement units. Recapping is a good investment andanimmensely satisfying project. Work slow, have fun and prepare to be impressed with your work.

I only sell capacitor replacement sets, repair kits, accessoriesand informationforEquipment That I Own and/or Service, and have done the replacements myself. Thisincludes Vintage Realistic DX Receivers &CB Radios, Kenwood/Icom/Yaesu HF Tranceivers/Receivers, Micronta VOM's &Heathkit VTVM's. I have been repairing and racapping this equipment for about20 years and often had difficulty finding the necessary values of capacitors.

The attached photos are examples of the size difference of Old vs. New higher voltage electrolytics.
