It takes a number of layers of thin oil paint to get the \"live\" flesh effect.This one took a long time to finish! First, I started out with a great resin to start with. Slowly layering a light golden chestnut color in oils and then adding slight dapples. Then adding a plaited mane. Over 40+ braids. I do not do this often now. Getting a little too old! It takes 2 days to do it. I had already remade the tail into a braided one. Perfect for those formal English classes. Eyes painted with 8 different colors(looks like they are about to blink!), protective gloss added to the eyes,single hair details in the white, striped hooves and so on. This model is EXTREMELY detailed with the shading variations and can only be appreciated close up and in person. The camera can\'t accurately show this. So often people tell me how much more they like my work when they see it in person. Safe for those performance classes as I use a number of layers of protective matt spray.
