Unlike dog boat ladders, ramps or platforms, WAG Boarding Steps™ Model SLM-12 provide a pet-friendly, stable and easy-to-use method of getting from the water onto the boat (and from the boat into the water for dogs that do not want to jump in). They are designed to easily and securely mount to the swim ladder on your boat and can be installed and removed while on the boat or in the water. The set-and-forget design allows your dog to come and go as they wish without you needing to lift them out of the water. They can also be quickly detached and float next to the boat when humans need to use the swim ladder.

·a cross-member cross-section of no more than 1-1/2\" in two 1\"-wide areas (if more than 1-1/2\", an optional adjustable hook kitmay be required)

Most 3-step (or more) folding and telescoping swim ladders meet these criteria. A 2-step swim ladder with pivot bar will also typically meet these criteria.
