Vintage Mel-O-Dee Five Wood & Bakelite Radio Cabinet. This was a cabinet for a 5 tube tuned radio frequency receiver. The cabinet box is wood on all sides but the front. The front piece appears to be bakelite. The front has all of the holes where the original knobs would have been. The inside is completely empty.The box top is hinged.The underside of the lid has a label telling about the radio and has a log where the user would record the correct settings for the stations found so they could be dialed in easily the next time.
The wood exterior of the box has all of the bumps, dings and scratches associated with years of wear. The bakelite front is in good condition, with no cracks, but does have scratches from wear. This would be an excellent piece for a radio collector, perhaps if you have this radio and your case is in poor condition. This might be what you need for a better look.
This box is heavy and I apologize if shipping is high. That is out of my control, I charge what the USPS charges me.
