Description: ……There is a series of markings on the bottom of the hand hammered silver plated Sugar Bowl in this sale. Starting with the numbers “383” and “81” it is also marked “Pedro” “Made in Mexico” and finally, “Los Castillo Taxco.” After searching online, I was able to find a few other examples of Taxco Mexican Silverplate that had stone-inlaid Parrots. I could find several Creamers, which have one inlaid stone parrot, but I could not find another example of a double-parrot sugar bowl and spoon, like the example we are listing tonight. Measuring 4“ tall, to the top of the parrot's heads, by 5 1/4“ from tail to tail, this Silverplated Sugar Bowl is in very good original condition. The spoon is marked “Los Castillo” on the handle and is also inlaid with hard stone, including Turquoise and Coral. ..The high buyer will find that this mid 20th century, Los Castillo Taxco Sugar Bowl is in perfect condition with no repairs and to make sure some er wins it there is !
