Vintage Dual 1242 full-auto/belt drive turntable For Sale -

Vintage Dual 1242 full-auto/belt drive turntable in good condition. Unit has been tested and is working well mechanically. Full auto tonearm cueing works properly. Stylus drops at proper point and lifts & returns correctly. Motor speed is precise- it measured 33.4 RPM with my cell phone app. Pitch adjustment works properly. Cueing lever and tonearm rest/lock are all intact & working. I did discover a possible issue with playback. During testing, audio was present in both channels and sounded pretty good. After a closer listen; however, I could detect slight distortion in L channel. I think it may have something to do with the cartridge connection or the cartridge carrier connection. One other issue I found is the original spindle is missing. I found a spindle from a Garrard TT that fit and is working, but it is not an exact match. Original platter retaining clip is present. Cosmetically, turntable looks great (except for dust cover). Unit shows light wear and is free of any noticeable blemishes or damage. Plinth is in excellent condition and free of scratches/ dings. Dust cover is intact but shows considerable wear. There are two cracks (please see photos) and the usual tiny scratches & scuffs throughout. Interconnects, ground wire, and power cord are all intact & working. RCA cables appear to have been upgraded to gold plated connectors. Unit includes belt, Pickering cartridge (unknown model), and stylus. Stylus & cart have unknown number of hours. Stylus cantilever is slightly bent. Unit will be packaged securely and professionally-platter removed and wrapped separately, tonearm secured, counterweight removed and wrapped separately, transit screws tightened down, use of double box. Turntable is guaranteed to arrive in described condition.
