This antiquepair of Giant Buttons Pliers are marked inside the Diamond CheckeredHandles PAT. APD. FOR DEC.7,09. The markings are worn and very hardto read. There is also the 3 Diamonds Logo. They measure approx. 8 ¼inches long. They are well used with wear, rust pitting, stains, weldresidue, loose rivet area in as is pictured condition. They do notclose tight due to welding residue and priced according to condition.I found US Patent: 942,504 and Thefocus of the patent is the \"forward\" wire cutter notches inline with the jaws. The cutters are formed so that the jaws grasp thesevered wire. In1911 Utica registered their well-known 3-Diamondslogo as a trademark. Sometimearound 1913 Utica began offering patterned handles with some of theirplier models.
