$1.99

Small driftwood from Wrangell Alaska island waters, which has been eaten by worms (Teredo navalis, the naval shipworm). This piece is kind of wedge shaped and has worm holes on three side with a flat back side. The driftwood measures 5.25\" long, 3.75\" wide, and 2\" deep.
The piece has been rinsed with freshwater and dried, but not sealed or sterilized.
Whenever possible, I will combine purchases into the cheapest shipping rate. For example, 4 to 5 lots that normally ship in small flat rate boxes can usually be combined into a medium flat rate box so that the shipping cost of 2 to 3 of the lots can be saved. I will either send an invoice with the combined shipping discount included or refund the difference via paypal.
Disclaimer: I try to judge whether items are completely dry before listing. However, they may not feel dry somewhere else as the humidity is very high here (often over 80% - it is a rain forest). The items I sell are natural products that come directly from the beach. They may have fungus, insects, sand, dirt, dried mud, mollusks, seaweed, salt residue, etc on or in them (especially if there are lots of deep worm holes). I do try to avoid wood that is too soft or rotting. I rinse (sometimes I let the rain do this by leaving outside for a couple of days) but do not scrub or sterilize. Depending upon the application (e.g. aquariums), some customers boil the wood before using.
