SPECTACULAR SLED DOG TEAM-HAnd carved VINTAGE w/ Dog sled;Alaskan doll wood face For Sale -

I have had many dog and animal carvings over the years, but have never had any more spectacular than these guys. Carved by Hermonia Anslinger (1915-2011) from Spokane, Washington. She was born in Indiana.I'm guessing the age on these carvings to be from the 30s-50s. The dogs themselves are carved from what appears to be one piece of wood; they all have hair carved into the coats, along with toes,tongues and teeth. Each dog appears to be in a different running position and facial expression, with a small wire brace cleverly installed under several of the foot pads to balance them since some of the feet are not touching the ground. The lead dog has suffered a broken rt rear leg above the ankle, and a rt front leg was also broken; both are reattached and you must look closely to see the old breaks. Only remnants of the leather harness remains on the dogs. The sled is also handmade, and it came to me with a Native doll (old) with a wooden face (8.5" tall). The sled is about 21" long, with a old fur piece inside the sled. The dogs are 7.5-8" in length and 4" tall. Total length of the dog team and the sled are anywhere from47" to 60" depending on how close together the dogs are. All dogs have a very small scripted signature on the bottom of their respective undersides, reading "Hermonia Anslinger- Spokane, Washington". Any questions? please ask.... and thanks for looking
