AGreat American Pro horn that has a wonderful sound!!!

WOW!This horn is silver plated and in TOP shape!

This is an outstanding KingSuper 20 model trumpet and a top-quality pro instrument by the KingCompany in Eastlake Ohio. The King tradition of excellence goes backto 1893, when Sunday concerts in the park were plentiful and theblare of cornets in minstrel bands sent shivers down the spine ofanyone within hearing distance. Over the years King gainedrecognition and became one of the top trumpet and Brass makers in theUS. They are now a part of the giant Conn-Selmer company. The serialnumber on this horn is 671670 (which should date the horn to about1976) and the logo on the horn says “KING, SUPER 20, King, Musical,Instruments, USA”. The logo has the King crown above the engraving. These horns were played by almost all the big name trumpet playersaround including “Red” Allen, “Dizzy” Gillespie, and ZiggyElman. The horn has a beautiful Silver plate finish on the body andslides and is 100% there with only a few scratches on the bell flair. The buttons and caps are also silver plate and in great shape. When Igot this horn there were some small dents on the bell flair. Thereare a few small pings left that do not affect the looks or sound atall. I tried to show the scratches in the flair but they are hard tosee unless you look close. The horn was disassembled and ultrasoniccleaned then the horn was polished. The polishing work was done byhand so there was no loss of silver. The valves were aligned, andthen it was re-assembled. The horn overall is a real modern beautyand looks great and plays fantastic even though it is 41 years old. Ihave played this horn several times and it has a wonderful tone, anda nice dark and full sound (Melanie said I sound great on this horn, lol, as always). I LOVE the old King’s and have several of them! Itplays well in all registers with a nice powerful sound. The .458”bore makes it a very easy blow. Mechanically it's in excellentcondition - all the tuning slides work smoothly, including the firstand third which are usually frozen and require some kind of repair. There are NO missing pull tabs (rare in a used horn)! The valves workfreely and spring back into place with ease and I have installed newfelts, springs, and corks in them. There is almost no wear on thevalve bodies and they are still tight, quiet, and very smooth! The first and third slides have new bumpers to quiet the return from throwing them.Thetrumpet comes with a 7C mouthpiece that has only slight insertionmarks and a few scratches on it. The horn has a nice feel in the handand has that TRUE Big Band sound. The original case is with the hornand is in good shape. It is black outside with black bands and a niceplush blue inside. There is storage under the horn for music andvalve oil. The latches spring open and work very well on closing. This is your chance - why spend upwards of $1700 for a trumpet(Conn-Selmer, parent of King has the Conn Vintage One model now thatgoes for over $2100, and can’t play any better than this horn) whenyou can pick this up for less than that? Also keep in mind this is asolid built American horn and will outplay almost all the newertrumpets out there! Take a look...it’s a great horn for a student, intermediate player, comeback player, Pro player, or player thatwants a horn that looks like the King days of the big band era. Winning buyer pays shipping of $28.00(Insured) in the lower 48states. Other shipping is per the chart.

Don’tmiss your chance to get an American horn that has a GREAT look andplays FANTASTIC!
