FULLY SERVICED. As with most 50+ year old items, the grease gets thick, the oil dries up, resistors & capacitors dry up inside from age becoming out of tolerance with these and other vital components needing to be serviced / replaced. This DECCA Automatic record player has just been fully serviced / restored as follows:

Idler Wheel: Replaced with idler with new/fresh rubber surface.

Mechanism Cam wheel rubber replaced with new.

Spindle bearings cleaned and lubricated

New rubber chassis mounts.

Automatic mechanism cleaned and lubricated

Cartridge and stylus replaced with a NEW cartridge and stylus. .07 mil stylus.

Power cord is original and in excellent condition.

TUBE amplifier has been recapped with new ceramic and electrolytic capacitor(s).

Controls have been cleaned and lubricated with Deoxit.

Case has been repaired, repainted, and speaker grill cleaned and painted.

Hardware in excellent condition. All hardware working as it should. The hardware metallic surfaces are still bright and shiny as this item is in excellent original condition. There is some very light tarnish and pitting in some of the raw metallic surfaces. Item was obviously stored well and kept in an controlled, air conditioned environment.

Volume and tone controls as well as all switches working as they should. Tight and responsive. (KNOBS are vintage but, not original with this item)

Changer chassis surface has been repainted in hammered gold finish.

Has a nice full range, 4" round front firing internal speaker inspected to be in excellent working condition. The speaker was removed and leaned of dust bunnies and dust particles that developed over the years.

The sound quality is excellent on this player. Has loud and clear vintage sound with lots of full tone and volume controls.

A little about me:

It is my passion to bring you the very finest restoration I can. My quest to explore, diagnose, repair and service electronic and mechanical devices began when I was 7 years old. I'd get up very early, everyday in the Summer and on Saturday mornings during the school year. I'd take my Huffy bicycle around TV service and electronic repair store rubbish areas. I'd hit the trash cans of neighbors, industrial and retail centers, collecting interesting specimens of electronic chassis and motor driven gizmos, to dissect, study and organize. In my teens I built and studied projects from Heathkit and other schematics featured in Mechanics Illustrated, Electronics Illustrated and similar related publications. In the Navy I went to school, studied and worked as an Aviation Electrician repairing and servicing military aircraft. Now that I'm retired, I still love to tinker with electronic and mechanical devices. If the item is old and moves, engages, lights up, or makes sound, I am driven to dismantle, clean, readjust and rebuild the device. I have several radios, record players, amplifiers, and color wheels that I will be restoring over the next several years. My goal is to make these old, vintage devices function like new again. They sure don't make-em like they used to. Cheers: Daniel
